Ronald Herrera
Ronald Herrera, 67 years old, of Ventura, California, passed away on June 15th at home. Ron was born in Oxnard to Benjamin and Helen Herrera on Christmas day 1955. He attended Buena High School and graduated in 1973. He attended Ventura College and completed his Associate Degree. He then attended Cal-State Northridge. He enjoyed being a volunteer kicking coach at Rio Mesa High School for many years and mentored many students.
Ron is preceded in death by his father Benji. He is survived by his mother Helen of Ventura. Bothers: Ben, Richard, Mark, Chuck and Vince. His nephews: Tony, Stephen, Kevin, Charles, Miles and Michael. His Nieces: Stacy, Nastassia, Tiffany and Alyssa. And many great nephews and nieces with countless extended family and friends he was loved by all who knew him. Because of his birth defect of Spinal Bifida he suffered many surgeries when he was young but always had a positive outlook and never complained. The last 15 years of his life was especially difficult, with multiple hospital stays with near death episodes. But again he never complained he would come home and start the next day with a positive outlook.
Family and friends are invited to visiting hours to be held on Tuesday evening June 27, 2023 from 4 to 8pm in the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, 757 E. Main Street, Ventura, where a Most Holy Rosary will be recited at 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Wednesday, June 28, 2023 in Our Lady of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, 3175 Telegraph Road Ventura. Interment will follow at 1:00pm in Ivy Lawn Cemetery, Ventura.
