FARRELL, Eileen F. Of New York, NY, formerly of West Newton, June 15, 2023. Beloved daughter of the late Thomas and Rachel (O’Shea) Farrell. Devoted sister of Maureen Farrell of Wellesley Hills, Rita Galvin and her late husband Gerald of Dedham, the late James Farrell and his surviving wife Judith of Worcester, and the late Anne Sheehan and her late husband Paul. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Eileen was a graduate of Fordham University where she earned her baccalaureate degree in Sociology. She then went on to earn her master’s degree in social work from Hunter College. Eileen was passionate in her profession as a social worker at St. Vincent’s Hospital and was dedicated to helping others. She furthered her love of her profession by earning her certificate from Karen Hornay School of Psychoanalysis. She used this to help others in her private practice.
Eileen was a friend of Bill W for over 54 years, she was a passionate and dedicated friend that devoted many hours in supporting others.
She was loved by many and will be missed by all.
A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Anne’s Church, 90 West Milton St., Readville on Thursday, June 22 at 11:00am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
