Obituary

WEST BOYLSTON/WORCESTER- John “Jack” Robert Waterson,75, died peacefully on Tuesday, June 13th at UMASS Medical Center. He was born in Worcester on July 29, 1947 and grew up on Hacker Street in the Cambridge Street section of Worcester.
Jack is the son of the late John Waterson, Sr. and Bienoslava "Blanch". He leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Donna Waterson, two sons; John Waterson of Leicester, MA and Shawn Waterson of West Boylston, MA, 4 grandchildren; Amanda, Kasey, Madison and Emma and 3 great grandchildren. He was a dedicated husband and family man. He loved spending time with his sons and grandkids.
Jack attended Canterbury Street School and Commerce High School.
He worked at National Standard Wire Company (Worcester Wire) for 17 years before their closing in the early 80’s. He owned and operated a canteen truck in Boston throughout the 80’s and spent a few years as a lobster fisherman in the early 90’s, fishing out of Gloucester on the North Shore. For the last 25 years he owned and operated a car lot in North Oxford with his friend and business partner, Ray Turgeon.
In his younger years he enjoyed being on the water. He enjoyed trips up north to Winnipesaukee and Sebago Lake or day trips to Webster Lake or Quinsigamond, fishing and water skiing with his sons and buddies from Worcester Wire. He also enjoyed candlepin bowling during the winter months. Throughout his life he always had a strong work ethic and enjoyed a good laugh. He was also kind and generous and made friends easily.
No funeral or memorial service is immediately planned. The family will notify loved ones in the future when a service is scheduled. MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester is honored to assist with arrangements.
