Charles A. Ayers

Charles A. Ayers, age 91, a former longtime resident of Billerica and Tewksbury, passed away at Lowell General Hospital on Thursday, June 8, 2023.
He was the beloved husband of Norma T. (DeBendetti) Ayers, who passed away on March 30, 2020. Devoted father of Nancy L. Keough and her husband T. Kevin Keough, of North Reading, and the late Anthony Ayers, of North Andover. Cherished grandfather of Taylor, Kristen, and Lauren Keough. Brother of Paul Ayers and his wife Elaine and their family. Brother-in-law of Dorothy Masciovecchio and her family. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Born in Chelsea on July 23, 1931, he was the son of the late Charles J. Ayers and the late Ruth (O’Brien) Ayers.
Charles was raised in Revere and graduated from Revere High School. He later attended Northeastern University.
In 1951, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean War with the 47th Bombardment Wing. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal for his active-duty military service.
Charles was employed as an engineer by M.I.T. and Honeywell Corporation until his retirement.
He and his late wife treasured spending the winter months at their home in Satellite Beach, FL.
Charles loved spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters. He was a kind, loving, and
thoughtful man and will be greatly missed and remembered by the many lives he touched.
At the request of his family, services will be private. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury.
