Joann DiOrio, of Melrose, and formerly of Revere and Provincetown, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023, at the age of 81 in Melrose. Born on September 5, 1941, in Boston, Joann was the daughter of the late Joseph and Domenica (Cilibrasi) DiOrio. Throughout her life, Joann was known for her caring nature and dedication to family and friends.
Joann worked at First National Bank of Boston, applying her incredible work ethic and intelligence to support her colleagues and clients. She retired as a manager after over 20 years of service. Despite her professional accomplishments, she remained grounded and focused on what truly mattered most to her: the people in her life. Joann lived in Revere and Provincetown before settling in Melrose, where she enjoyed spending time with her loved ones.
Joann had a passion for playing softball and appreciated the beauty of Provincetown, where she continued to visit even after moving away. She also cherished the time spent traveling with her sister Barbara, exploring the country and creating unforgettable memories. Joann also enjoyed a visit to Foxwoods Casino, where she enjoyed testing her luck and sharing laughs with friends. As a testament to her generous spirit, Joann was a devoted animal lover, providing a loving home for stray cats and dogs in need. Her annual Memorial Day cookout was a highlight for family and friends, showcasing her thoughtfulness and warmth.
Joann is survived by her sisters, Camile DiOrio, and the late Barbara DiOrio, along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s of Assumption Parish, 670 Washington St., Revere, on Friday July 7th 2023 at 11:00am.
