Dorothy A. (Simpson) Pires, 81, of Dartmouth, passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 surrounded by loved ones. She was the wife of the late James J. Pires.
Mrs. Pires was born in Fall River, daughter of the late John and Mary (Canole) Simpson and had been a longtime resident of Dartmouth. She was very active with and a communicant of St. George Church, Westport. She enjoyed bowling, cruises, BINGO, going to Foxwoods, winters in Florida with old and many new friends and in her younger years snowmobiling.
Survivors include her daughter: Sharon L. Pires of Westport; her brother: John A. Simpson and his wife Judy of Rochester; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Stephen J. Pires and sister of the late Russell G. Simpson.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Monday, June 12, 2023 from the Potter Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Church, Westport at 11:00 A.M.
Calling hours Sunday from 4-7 P.M.
Interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
