Dudley – Maureen E. (Standring) Gauvin, 64, of Dudley, passed away in her home on Thursday, June 8, 2023 after a battle with cancer.
Maureen is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Norman J. Gauvin; a son, Peter Gauvin and his fiancé, Terri Bernardo of Webster; a daughter, Samantha Wilkinson and her husband, Barry of Charlton; three grandchildren, Jonathan Gauvin, Avianna Gauvin and Scotia Wilkinson; her mother, Madelyn (Hjelm) DeSalvio of Worcester; a sister, Brenda Boucher and her husband, Joseph of Worcester and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Gauvin was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Robert Standring and is also predeceased by a son, Scott Gauvin; a brother, James Standring; a sister, Kimberly Nichols and a nephew, Joshua Standring.
Maureen graduated from Saint Peter Marian High School and worked at Shephard Hill Regional High School for 32 years, retiring this past January as the head cook in the cafeteria.
Maureen enjoyed taking cruises with her family and cheering on her favorite team the Patriots on Sunday. In her heart, she always put her family as her top priority. Maureen loved to be with her children and grandchildren and cherished the time she spent with them.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 12 at 11 AM in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, June 11 from 5 to 8 PM in the funeral home.
