Obituary

WEBSTER – Stacie T. (Stapor) Sujdak, 101, died Wednesday, June 7, 2023 surrounded by her loving family, and the caring staff at the Oakdale Skilled Nursing Center in West Boylston. Her dear husband of 42 years, William F. Sujdak, died in March 1997.

She leaves two sons, William T. Sujdak of Sturbridge, and John A. Sujdak and his wife Jacqueline of West Dudley; a daughter, Jane Lucia Molina and her husband Andres Jaime Molina of Boylston; three grandchildren, Andre Molina, Jared and Alexandria Sujdak; 2 sisters-in-law, Nancy Stapor of Hernando, MS and Marge Stapor of Winter Haven, FL; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers Frank, Bernard and Walter Stapor and by two sisters, Mary Sczepanski and Ann Francis.

She was born on January 24, 1922 in Webster, a daughter of William and Rose (Rzeszutko) Stapor. She was a graduate of Saint Joseph Parochial School, and Bartlett High School class of 1939. She earned her Associates Degree from Becker Junior College in 1941.

During her working career, Mrs. Sujdak was a Civil Service employee of the War Department at Fort Devens, MA, from 1941 to 1945, the Veterans Administration in Miami FL from 1946 to 1949, the Sheldon Press in Webster from 1949 to 1952, and from 1952 to 1955 she was a member of the Consulate staff of the American Embassy in numerous posts including Berlin, Germany, Montevideo, Uruguay, Buenos Aires, Argentina, Lima, Peru and Colon, Panama.

Among her religious and philanthropic pursuits, she was a communicant and lector at Saint Andrew Bobola Church in Dudley, as well as a member and past-president of their Holy Rosary Sodality. She was president and treasurer of the Webster Woman’s Club, a member of the South Central District of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs Past Presidents Club, the Friends of the Chester C. Corbin Library and Hubbard Hospital Guild. In addition to these pursuits, she and her late husband William were charter members of the Pope John Paul II Foundation of New England, as well as members of the American Institute of Polish Culture, Inc., of Miami, FL.

During their membership years, they travelled extensively and frequently with all of their philanthropic organizations, especially to Rome and Poland, attending the convocations and assemblies of these organizations. In her leisure time, she enjoyed the gardens and woodland of her homes in West Dudley and Sturbridge.

Her funeral will be held Wednesday, June 14, 2023 from the Sitkowski, Malboeuf and Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street, Webster. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:15 Wednesday morning, prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to either Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street, Webster, MA 01570 or to the John Paul II Foundation of New England, 24 French Drive, Boylston, MA 01505.
