Thomas R. Deedy, 87, passed away on December 26, 2022, surrounded by family. Tom was born in Worcester, MA to Grace R. (McDonough) and John G. Deedy. After serving in the Army, he went on to graduate from Boston University where he met his late wife Suzanne Hart.
His working career was spent with MassMutual in the group sales department. Tom loved sailing, skiing, and was an avid sports fan. He was an early, faithful, and optimistic season ticket holder for the New England Patriots, attending games at Harvard Stadium and later at their stadiums in Foxboro.
Tom spent many years in Winthrop, MA and was an active member of Cottage Park Yacht Club; from there he enjoyed sailing his boat Sympatico to the Cape and Islands, racing in Boston Harbor, and sharing the experience with family and friends.
Tom married Pat Hersey in 1981. Together they built a home in Woodstock Vermont. There Tom enjoyed tending to animals, skiing at Suicide Six and spending time with grandchildren.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers John, Edward, and Justin and his second wife Patricia Hersey Deedy. He is survived by his children Kerin (Charlie) Green, Sue Ellen (John) Briggs, Thomas (Tara) Deedy, Conal (Kara Harrington) Deedy, and Jane Deedy.
He will be missed by his nine grandchildren Patrick Deedy, Priscilla Zhang, Nicholas Briggs, Madeline Green, Michael Deedy, Trevor Deedy, Quinn Deedy, Matthew Deedy, Annika Deedy, and his many nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2023 in St John the Evangelist Church 320 Winthrop St. Winthrop, at 10AM. Relatives and friends are invited. Interment will be in Winthrop Cemetery (Belle Isle Section)
