Margaret Weinstock who was currently living in Newburyport formerly of Medfield and West Roxbury, MA died peacefully on June 5, 2023 with family by her side. Margaret is survived by her six children, Mary Jarvis and her husband Jeff Jarvis of Harvard, MA, Maggie Cadigan of Scituate, MA, Jenifer Fritz and husband Rob Fritz of Swan Point, MD, Dr. Arthur Weinstock of West Barnstable, MA, David Weinstock and wife Gina from North Attleboro, MA and Jane O’Brien and husband Pete O’Brien of Newbury, MA. In addition, she is survived by many grandchildren Derrin, James, Miles, Laura, Greer, Kian, Grace, Cole, Charlie, Sophia, Robbie, Jamie, Hannah, Sean and Colby. Also she is survived by her sister in law Marguerite McIntyre and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her five siblings: David McIntyre, Marna Burke, Dr. Robert McIntyre, Dr. Kevin McIntyre and Ronald McIntyre.
Margaret was born on November 19, 1931 to David and Helen McIntyre of West Roxbury, MA. She attended Boston Latin for Girls from grades 7-12. After graduating from Boston Latin she went on to Newton College of the Sacred Heart majoring in Chemistry. In her forties Margaret went back to school nights and weekends to receive her Masters in Secondary Special Education from Boston State College. After various subbing experiences in the city of Boston as well teaching chemistry at a private Jewish school Margaret became a special education teacher at Madison Park Vocational High School for many years until her retirement from teaching in 1995.
Margaret was a master knitter, crocheter, seamstress and gardener. After retirement she traveled to Russia and various European countries. Margaret loved to read and volunteer at the council on aging in Medfield. She will be remembered for her intelligence, quick wit and devotion to Catholicism. With her own unique style and personality she made the world a better place for many.
Visiting hours will be at the William Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St. West Roxbury, MA from 4-7 on Thursday, June 8, 2023. There will be a funeral mass at Holy Name Parish, West Roxbury at 10 am on Friday, June 9, 2023. In lieu of flowers donations in Margaret’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org
