LEICESTER: Henry R. Desmarais, 84, of Leicester, passed away peacefully, on June 5th with his family by his side. Henry was the son of the late Beatrice (Berthiaume) and Henry J. Desmarais of Worcester. He leaves his wife of 56 years; Melanie (Trainor) Desmarais, his son; William Desmarais and his wife Tina of Spencer, his daughter; Michelle DiGioia and her husband Tommaso of Worcester, grandchildren; Dante, Gianna, Dominic Simone and William Henry Desmarais. He leaves his brother; Richard Desmarais and his wife Carol of Worcester. He was predeceased by his sister Beatrice Proal, brothers; Leo and Louis Desmarais. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews as well as his beloved sister-in-law Mary Remington. “Buzzy” as he was known to all, worked for Parker and Harper Manufacturing in Worcester for over 40 years as a machinist and later as a foreman. He was a “mister fix it” to all his neighbors, family, and friends alike. You could always find him tinkering on a project. Buzzy also worked for many years as a T.V repairman with Auburn TV. He was an avid sportsman in both game and fishing. He was a loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox, but above all he loved time with his family and especially his grandchildren. He never missed one of their sporting events. You could always find him along with his wife in the stands watching his grandchildren no matter what the sport or the weather. The family would like to thank all the amazing staff at Holden Rehabilitation and St. Vincent’s Hospital especially in 34 North and 33 South who took great care of him.
Buzzy's funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 8th. at Noon in the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours will precede the services on Thursday from 10a.m. to 12p.m.
