Margaret “Marie” Forrest, 84 years of age, passed away on Sunday May 21st, 2023, in Ventura, California. Marie was born in Lynn, Massachusetts to the late Fred D. Forrest and Mary Spelman on February 16, 1939. She attended and graduated from Lynn Classical High School in 1956. Her life was filled with dedication to family, friends, and church. Marie worked as a licensed radiology technologist and medical assistant for more than 40 years.
Marie is survived by her brother Philip “Roy” Forrest and his wife Delores. Several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her brothers Robert Forrest and Charles “Dick” Forrest.
Whatever else is going on in your life, after a call from Marie, you knew there was someone in the world who considers you special. Despite moving from Massachusetts to Southern California with her family at a young age, she always kept her Massachusetts roots and family close. Marie initially settled in the Los Angeles area, later moving to the bucolic city of Ojai. She never forgot to call for birthdays, anniversaries, or other life events. It seemed her goal in life was to ensure the happiness of others.
Marie actively placed flowers on her church altar for loved ones who have passed. Generous in every way, she dedicated herself not just to her family, but also her church. In addition to serving as church treasurer, she was also a member of the finance committee and church council. Marie was always deeply involved in church events, selling tickets, recruiting others to help, baking and encouraging donations to promote the church’s mission.
She truly enjoyed playing “Bunco” and sharing fellowship with other members of her homeowner’s association.

A celebration of life service will be held at the Ojai United Methodist Church on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 10:30 AM. All are welcome to attend.
