Jean Eloge Bellanton (86) of Brockton died June 3rd in the Good Samaritan Medical Center. He was the loving husband of Marie M. (Cesaire) Bellanton of Brockton.
He was born in Croix-des-Bouquets, Haiti son of the late Joseph Bellanton and Laure (Brun) Bellanton. Jean was an retired laundry room attendant for the Sheraton Hotel in Braintree. He was a member of the Evangelical Mount of Olives Baptist Church in Hyde Park. Jean migrated to the United States in 1988 first arriving in New York then moving to Massachusetts. He was an avid preacher starting early in his life, also was a deacon and treasurer in his home country of Haiti. Jean was active in the school board and food pantry in Haiti and was known for helping children that were less fortunate.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his son Jean Duclaude Bellanton of New York, 2 daughters, Christella and Rachelle Bellanton both of Brockton, a brother Jean Rosemond of Randolph, his sister Marie Agnes Ulysse of New York and many nieces and nephews.
Services in the Brockton Church of God, 80 Pleasant Street Brockton Saturday June 17th at 9:30 am. Burial to follow in Melrose Cemetery, 88 N Pearl Street Brockton. Viewing in the Church 8:30 am prior to services.
