Willard Dexter Minto was born on August 9, 1968 in Samuel Prospect District of Trelawny, Jamaica, West Indies, to Lester Minto and Evadne Miranda Minto. Willard was affectionately called Marty, Taurus, and Boy Goose to family and friends. He was funny, friendly, calm, caring and always with a friendly smile. He was the fifth of seven children. He immigrated to the United States in 2006 and was married to Connie Molton the same year and they have a son Ryan who is 15 years old. He has three older sons who are Demoy, Judane, and Rasheed.
Willard attended Duncans All Age School and Cedric Titus Secondary School. He attended classes for his GED certi. He worked as a Security Guard at the Mount Alverna High School in Montego Bay for several years. After migrating to the United States, he worked as a Forklift Operator, Landscaper and a General Laborer. His most recent employment was at Shaws Supermarket in Norwood, MA.
Willard loved to garden, laugh, tell jokes, and travel. His love of music led to many gigs as a popular DJ at many functions. He also loves to cook, especially curry chicken. He was involved in voluntary work at different churches serving meals to those in need. Marty loves to dress up, always looking his best when he goes out. He had a beautiful smile and sweet mouth that was like a honeycomb to the girls. He was like the pig's tail in the stew peas. He loved the Lord and was always seeking how to draw closer to God.
On May 25, 2023, Willard Dexter Minto left his family and transitioned to be with his Creator. He is survived by his parents, Lester and Evade Minto,his five siblings, Donoval and wife Carmen(Ricky), Deneese and husband Andrew (Mutty), Christeen (Sharon), Karen, and Rickard (Chris) Minto and wife Denise. His four sons, Demoy, Judan, Rasheed, and Ryan. Three grandchildren Damoy,_____Jhourdane,______Chevoy. Three uncles (Dennis, Gary and Jimmy) and 8 aunts (sybil, Lona, Aldeen, Joyce, Claudette, Lorna, Paulette, Sylvn). There are also many, many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends who are left to cherish his memories. He is predeceased by his sister Millie.
Willard will be sorely missed by his family, friends, and those who knew him, loved him and cared for him. May his memory live on in his children. Rest in Peace.
Viewing hours will be on Thursday June 15, 2023 from 2-3 PM followed by a Religious Service from 3-4 PM in the Joseph Russo Funeral Home, 814 American Legion Highway, Roslindale, MA. Burial will be private.
