SKOWHEGAN- Dana Clifford Davis passed away peacefully June 1st, 2023, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, Maine. He courageously battled a malignant, cancerous brain tumor, causing a quick decline in health. He was 68 years of age.
Dana was born in Portland on July 6, 1954. He was the son of Wallace Davis and Alice Davis (Curry) of South Portland, Maine. He graduated from South Portland High School in 1972. He then furthered his education in Quincy, Massachusetts graduating from The Eastern Nazarene College with a psychology degree.
He worked for years as a highly skilled finish carpenter, as well as a construction foreman, and excelled at problem solving and working with his hands. A very handy man, he was often doing jobs that should be done by multiple people just “To see if he could do it.”
Dana was an excellent artist, songwriter, and musician. A talented guitarist, he was often playing songs of his favorite John Prine. He was a very gentle man, loved to laugh, and filled people that he knew full of humor.
Dana is survived by his brother Dean Davis and Vicki Huff of South Portland. His nephew, Darin Davis and Jennifer Davis and their daughter, Delilah Davis of Sebago, Maine. And his nephew, Nathan Davis of South Portland.
