Linda R. (Walker) Flammia passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 30th. She was 81. Born in Norfolk, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Wallace Walker and the late Edith (DiMinico) Fabbo.
Raised in Somerville, Linda lived much of her life in Medford. A devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Linda studied nursing at the Youville Hospital and worked for many years at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital as a licensed practical nurse. She and her husband Jim enjoyed travelling and especially looked forward to two weeks in Aruba every year. She enjoyed listening to music and taking care of her dog.
The beloved wife of the late James Flammia and the late Wayne Hasenbein, Linda was a devoted mother to Sandra Hasenbein Rice of Tyngsboro, Wayne Hasenbein, Jr of Wakefield, Jennifer Buchanan and her husband Don of Hudson, NH and the late Jeffery Hasenbein and his surviving wife Carole of Woburn. She was a loving grandmother to Jessica, Andrew, Olivia, Stephanie, Donny, Eryn and also leaves two great-grandchildren. Linda is predeceased by her sister Sandra Gray and was a dear aunt to Linda Gray, Michael Gray and the late Robert Gray, Jr.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit on Tuesday, June 6th from 4 – 8 PM at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home on Wednesday morning at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden, at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
