Sherry Ann Stone: May 26, 1948 - May 31, 2023 (Age 75)
CORNISH- Sherry Ann Stone, age 75, died at Springbrook Nursing Home on May 31, 2023. She fought the battle, but Cancer won.
She was born May 26, 1948, as Sherry Ann Dishman in Upton, California. Her parents were Charles R Dishman and Bernice E Woods. Sherry attended Modesto Junior College where she earned an Associate's Degree. She lived for 21 years in California.
Sherry and her Mother moved to Massachusetts when her brother Thomas Brashears married his wife Eve from Acton, MA.
It was in Massachusetts where Sherry met her "Love at first sigh" Donald J Stone. Sherry worked at a company called Currier Smith in Bedford Ma. as the Secretary. Donald was hired as an Engineer. They were married 11 Months later November 25, 1972.in the Free Baptist Church Limerick, ME While in MA they were members of Grace Chapel in Lexington, MA.
In 1978 Don & Sherry moved to Cornish, Me. Sherry and Donald worked from their home in Cornish; Sherry as an electronic assembler; Donald as a design engineer.
Both Don & Sherry are members of Hilltop Baptist Church in Cornish, Me.
They celebrated their 50th anniversary on November 25, 2022.
Sherry and Donald have a daughter named Cheryl Stone Benoit (Born 1988) who is with Ryan Benoit. Cheryl has two children, Nevaeh Starr Stone (age 15) & Tyler Louis Gilson (age 12) Both children live in Casco, ME with their Dad Steven Gilson.
Both Thomas & Eve, and Sherry's Mother are now deceased. Sherry had a sister named Bonnie McBee who also is deceased.
Surviving are a niece: Veronica Rowe, Kosse, TX, nephews: Nick Cromeenes, Bobbie Barnes, sister in laws: Betty Elwell of Florida and Ruth Stone of Cornish ME, Bunny Tigerman is a half sister, Bunny is married to Mark Tigerman. They have daughter named Rita. Tom & Eve leave a daughter named Jeannie Marie. Cousins on Mothers side: Larry Woods, Bobbie Woods & Linda Woods. And many, many Nieces & Nephews through marriage on Donald's side

Visitation will be held on Thursday June 15th from 1 – 2 PM, followed by a 2 PM funeral service at the Poitras, Neal & York Funeral Home, 71 Maple St., Cornish.
