Thomas G. Trainor, 69, of Worcester, died Wednesday, May 31st in UMass Hospital, University Campus with his family by his side. He is survived by his three sisters, Theresa M. Trainor, Ellen M. Trainor and Kathleen M. Hinson and her husband, John all of Worcester; two nephews, Stephen and Christopher Hinson and many cousins, including Gregory Tormey and his wife, Janet of Worcester. He was predeceased by his brother, Stephen P. Trainor in 2015.
He was born in Worcester, the son of George T. and Mary T. (Brosnihan) Trainor; and was a graduate of South High School and attended Quinsigamond Community College. Tommy had been employed by UMass Hospital in its environmental building services department, retiring 23 years ago. He will be remembered for his love of his animals, scratch tickets and travel. Time spent with family was an important part of his life, especially with his nephews. He had been a former member of the Worcester Democratic City Committee, Ward 7. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
His funeral is Wednesday, June 7th from O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with his funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Peter's Church, 931 Main Street. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Leicester. His calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 6th from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
