Catherine A. "Kitty" Ross, a lifelong resident of Charlestown and proud Townie, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, May 31, 2023. She was 74 years of age.
Kitty was born in Cavite City, Philippines on June 3, 1948, a daughter of the late Edward J. Ross and Theresa (Smisek) Ross. She grew up in Charlestown where she attended St. Catherine's Parochial School and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1965. Kitty furthered her education by attending Salem State College where she received a Bachelor of Education Degree. Kitty was a longtime teacher at Charlestown High School where she believed in teaching through guidance, love, and patience. She was an avid Boston sports fan, especially the Red Sox. Kitty loved her family above all else. She will be remembered for her great sense of humor.
Kitty is the devoted mother of Lynne Veilleux and her partner Michael, Tami Palmisano and her husband Joseph, and Michael Burke and his companion Desirae DeMaggio. She is the loving grandmother of James, Anthony, Alysha, Brianna, Robert, Joseph, Erin, Michael, Jayson, and her great-grandchildren Paisley and Riley. She is the beloved companion of the late Michael Burke. She is the dear sister of Corazon "Carol" Ross, Lada Ross and his wife Elaine, Elizabeth O'Brien and her husband Thomas, Richard Ross and his late wife Debby, Theresa Ross, Christine Kennedy, Michelle Ross, and the late Anthony Ross. She is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews. She is a devoted Friend of Bill W.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Kitty's visiting hours on Monday, June 5, 2023 from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. Her burial is private.
