It is with a very heavy heart that we, his wife, children, sister, and mother, announce the passing of this great man.
He lived his life with integrity and joy for 73 years and was able to retire early to enjoy the results of his hard work. John’s family and friends were lucky to have felt his presence through all his educational endeavors in Shrewsbury and at WPI, as well as his professional life with Clairol in Connecticut and Bristol Myers and Vivendi Universal in New York.
John was immensely proud of his Tartar heritage and shared his family history with all that would listen.
His greatest joy, however, was his children and granddaughters. His happiest times were not the trips and experiences he was able to enjoy in retirement, but on those normal weekends with six to eight sporting events and activities with his children – be it soccer, softball, baseball, gymnastics, swimming, the list goes on and on.
John fully embraced his early retirement and became ensconced in his life on Cape Cod. It was his lifelong dream to be there full time and he was fortunate to enjoy 17 years making friends and exploring his adopted home.
It is with that in mind that we wanted anyone who wished to donate in his honor to consider the Lower Cape Outreach Council, located in Orleans, MA, which provides support for residents in need in our community. This is also the organization for which his daughter, Katie, is CEO. https://lcoutreach.org/donations/#friends
The Celebration of John's Life will take place July 17th at 12:00PM in the DCU Club at Polar Park in Worcester, MA. If interested in attending or speaking, please RSVP to [email protected] with the number in your party. We would like to see many people who remember John and learn how he touched your lives.
Rest now, John, knowing you have made a significant impact on all our lives.
