SOMERSET… Gloria (Folcik) Sroczynski, age 96, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 28, 2023.
Born in Taunton, MA, Gloria was the daughter of the late Louis J. and Mary (Rogowska) Folcik. She was also predeceased by her beloved husband, the late Frank Sroczynski. Gloria and Frank worked hard as the owners of Andrews market and Gloria’s coffee Shop in Somerset.
Gloria lived most of her life in Somerset, MA, where she was a parishioner of St. Thomas More Church. Gloria was known for her love of traveling and especially enjoyed time in Florida. She liked to work with her hands in gardening, knitting and crocheting. She loved to entertain, playing dominos and cards. A favorite pastime of Gloria’s was to decorate the house for each season and the holidays with her favorite Annalees. Gloria also cherished her time with her family.
Over the last decade, Gloria has been blessed to have had a companion, caretaker, and beloved friend, Lu, to help her through her journey. Words cannot express how thankful we all are that Lu was in our lives and became part of our family. In addition, over the years, my mom received great care from Lucy, Marie, and Farrah.
Survivors include: sons, Paul Sroczynski of Bonita Springs, FL, Francis Sroczynski of Somerset, MA, and David Sroczynski of Somerset, MA; daughter, Joyce Goddu of Waterford, CT; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren. She was also predeceased by her daughter, the late Sally Borge and brother, the late Louis “Huck” Folcik.
We would love to thank the many hospice healthcare workers and nurses for providing the special care and attention she was given.
Funeral Mass to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Saturday, September 30, 2023, at 10 AM at St. Thomas More Parish, 386 Luther Avenue, Somerset, MA 02726.
