Patricia Ann (Owens) Waddell

Patricia Ann “Patty” (Owens) Waddell, 94, of Anderson passed away on May 29, 2023 at Community Hospital Anderson following a brief illness.
She was born on August 12, 1928 in Anderson and was a lifelong resident.
She was employed at Anaconda Wire and Cable Co. for 31 years and was the Purchasing Agent at the time of their closing.
She was an Anderson High School graduate with the class of 1946 and served on several class reunion committees. She was a life member of New Horizons United Methodist Church (formerly Noble Street United Methodist Church) and an active member of United Methodist Women. She was a life member of Community Hospital Auxiliary with 25,000 hours and 53 years and former Editor of the auxiliary newsletter “Volunteer Voice” for 21 years. She was also a Paramount Theatre volunteer for 16 years, Lady Elk’s member (until the Anderson Chapter closed), past member and president of “Friendly Neighbors” Home Economics Club, and past member of Harter House Auxiliary. Patty bowled in several leagues for a number of years and enjoyed doing her own yard work and tending the numerous flower gardens into her nineties.
She is survived by her sister, Nancy (husband, Ron) Cox of Anderson; a brother-in-law, Ralph Waddell of Muncie; sister-in-law, Mildred (husband, Jim) McGraw of Florida; several nieces and nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Maxine (Smith) Owens; her husband of 46 years, Harold H. Waddell whom she married on October 18, 1952; a sister, Fannie Mae Campbell; brothers-in-law, Richard Campbell, Earl Waddell, John C. Waddell, Blaine Waddell, and Tony Marks; sisters-in-laws, Jewel Marks, Flora Waddell, Mary Lou Waddell, Janie Waddell, and Lydia Waddell.
A funeral service will be at 12:00pm on Friday, June 2, 2023 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service (West Entrance) with Rev. Bob Case officiating. The burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:00am -12:00pm on Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to New Horizon United Methodist Church, Community Hospital Auxiliary or Community Hospital Foundation.
