Maria Eliana Carrasco passed away peacefully on May 26, 2023, surrounded by her beloved family. She was born in Santiago, Chile on October 5, 1941, to Rene Carrasco and Yolanda Aguirre, the first of two children.
After Maria graduated from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, she taught at the Sofia Infante Hurtado school in Chile for over 4 decades and retired as a principal in 1992. She then emigrated to the United States with her family in 1993, where she taught Spanish at St. Jerome School in Weymouth, Massachusetts for 10 years. A very social woman, she enjoyed the company of others and loved spending time with her family. She loved to read, write, and work on puzzles. She will be remembered for her generosity and wisdom.
Maria was preceded in death by her husband, Eduardo Peralta, her brother Rene Carrasco, and her parents. She is survived by her children, Veronica Roa and her husband Rodrigo Roa of Easton, MA; Rodrigo Peralta and his wife Lorena Peralta of Stoughton, MA; Eduardo Peralta and his wife Carol Peralta of Myrtle Beach, SC; Claudia Paulina McSharry and her husband Patrick McSharry of Quincy, MA; 13 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and remembered by her other relatives and many friends. Her greatest love and legacy was her family and her presence in their lives will be greatly missed.
Her funeral mass will be Friday June 2, 2023, at Immaculate Conception Church, 193 Main Street, North Easton, MA 02356 at 11 am ET, all friends and family are invited.
