Lewis, Kathleen Marie Deegan, Age 72, of Needham, MA died peacefully on Thursday May 25, 2023 after a long illness. Devoted mother of Michelle Polito (Jim), Patricia Atkinson (Doug) and A.J. Lewis, adoring grandmother to Dylan, Claire, DeLacy and Deegan.
Born on September 24, 1950 in Bryn Mawr, PA, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary Deegan, sister of Vincent (Mary), Edward (Debbie) and Michael (Maureen). She was preceded in death by her sisters Patricia Bergmaier (Billy) and Mary Cunningham (Ed). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Kathy was a formidable realtor and a strong advocate of the advancement of women in business. She was a Needham Town Meeting member for 43 years and a former member of the Jaycees, Exchange Club, Needham Business Association and Garden Club.
Kathy was a devout Catholic who loved singing in the choir. Her relationship with God helped her to overcome many challenges and maintain an ever-positive attitude.
She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. Family and friends are invited to her visitation on Tuesday, May 30, from 6-8pm at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 1305 Highland Ave, Needham. Her Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 31, at 10:30am at Our Lady Help of Christian Church, 573 Washington St., Newton.
