Rosemary M. (Casey) Belsito, 89, of Millbury died peacefully surrounded by her loving family and friends at UMass Hospital on May 23, 2023.
Born in Worcester, Rosemary was the daughter of the late John Casey and J Mae Casey of Worcester. She was predeceased by her husband, Peter Belsito, in 1992. She was loving and devoted to her many cousins in both the Casey & Kelley families. Her sense of humor and kindness will be greatly missed. She is also survived by her lifelong friend, Ann Martin Barrett, and her 6 children who referred to her as “Auntie Rosemary” as well as her neighbor, Bill Cammuso, who was a kind friend during her time in Millbury.
She was a graduate of Ascension High School in Worcester and was educated at St Vincent Hospital for a 40-year career in their chemistry lab. She retired as a supervisor from the lab at St Vincent Hospital in 1998. Rosemary was a lover of animals, particularly of dogs, and loved to go to the graduation ceremonies for those trained in the NEADS program in Princeton, MA. Rosemary was also a die-hard Boston Red Sox fan. She was an active member of Sacred Heart-St Catherine of Sweden Church and a dedicated participant in the parish First Friday devotion.
Her Mass of Christian Burial, will be held at Sacred Heart-St. Catherine of Sweden Church, 596 Cambridge Street on Wednesday, May 31st at Noon and will be celebrated by Father Charles Monroe, who has been a very great friend of Rosemary’s for over 40 years. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, 260 Cambridge Street. A visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the time of the Mass in the Church on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Rosemary’s memory to Sacred Heart-St Catherine of Sweden Church, 596 Cambridge St Worcester, MA 01610 or NEADS PO Box 1100, Princeton, MA 01541.
