The life and legacy of Patrice R. "Trice" McElroy
Patrice R. McElroy (fondly called Trice or Kool-aid) was what most would call a gentle giant, he was a jokester and had an infectious personality. He either liked you or he didn't. Patrice departed this life unexpectedly on May 19, 2023, at the age of 41, peacefully.
Patrice was born in Boston, Mass on November 1, 1981. To Rogenia McElroy and Robert W. Jones. Patrice was a student at West Roxbury High School. During his life Patrice would travel back and forth to his family hometown of Waycross, Georgia, staying for periods of time. In 2007, Patrice decided it was time to relocate back to Boston with his mother, after being gone for 8 years. Once back in Boston, Patrice reconnected with childhood friends and family. He held a security position at Breezeway Bar & Grill and then became a manager at Sprint. During this time Patrice met the love of his life, his wife Iris, and they would go on to start a beautiful family and life together.
Patrice loved being with family and friends. Some of his favorite things to do were grilling, fishing and taking family trips with his wife and kids. He especially loved spending time with his brothers Ricky and Joey.
Patrice is survived by his wife Iris McElroy; his children, Donte Sanchez, Shantell McElroy, TyTrice McElroy; his brothers; Ricky McElroy, Joseph Fincher, and sister Delores McElroy; his special brother/nephews Edward McElroy(Eddie), and Jayden McElroy, which had a special bond with their uncle; aunt's , Doretha Mack, Luella McElroy; uncle; Rufus Macks; Trice had also had the pleasure of becoming a great-uncle for the first time; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends too numerous to mention here.
Patrice is preceded in death by his mother; Rogenia McElroy; aunt; Joyce Carter; uncles; James McElroy, Albert B. McElroy, and sister-in-law Maria "Ceci" Sanchez.
Visiting hours will be held Saturday, May 27th from 3 to 5pm. Interment services are private.
