Worcester – David Castillo, 72, of Worcester, passed away on May 14, 2023 after a brief illness.
Mr. Castillo is survived by his wife, Nancy Torres of Worcester; 4 sons, Joel Ortiz of North Oxford, Joey Castillo of Texas, Ahmed Ortiz of Worcester and Saud Riviera of Worcester; two daughters, Daisy Castillo of Texas and Areli Castillo Torres of Worcester; 14 grandchildren; his best friend Jose “Flaco” Alicea and many nephews and nieces.
David was born in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico one 15 children and is predeceased by his parents, Antonio Castillo and Louisa Pastrana and is also predeceased by a grandson, Joshua Ortiz.
Mr. Castillo worked for many years as an auto mechanic and took great enjoyment in being able to help others.
David loved to fish and would think nothing of taking a road trip to fish at his 2 favorite places, the Cape Cod Canal and Revere Beach. He had a contagious personality and loved to be with his family and friends, whether it was at a pig roast or something as simple as making a meal for them. David was a compassionate man who always wanted to help others and never turned away someone that needed that helping hand.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 26, from 2 to 5 PM in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. with a funeral service to be held at 5 PM.
