Worcester – Robert C. Carlson, 78, a lifelong resident of Worcester, passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, May 21, 2023.
Mr. Carlson is survived by his wife of 30 years, Mary E. (Dapsis) Carlson; a son, Robert C. Carlson Jr. of Worcester; a sister, Claire Laine of San Jose, CA; two sister-in-law’s, Julia Dapsis of Worcester and Susan Joanis of Uxbridge and many nephews and nieces including, Kathy and Mark Perron of North Billerica.
Bob was born in Worcester, son of the late Charles A. and Lucy A. (Beauregad) Carlson and is also predeceased by a daughter, Laura Soucy who died in 2007.
Mr. Carlson worked his entire career with the City of Worcester Department of Public Works retiring from the Water Department after 40 years of service. Bob would never miss an opportunity to go the beach, especially Hampton beach with his family for day trips and vacations. He was an avid New York Giants fan, played in various slow pitch softball leagues in the Worcester area and would often take trips to the casino.
To say that Bob loved life would be an understatement.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 26 at 10:00 AM in St. Mary of the Hills Church 630 Cross St. Boylston (Please go directly to church). Burial will follow in Notre dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 25 from 4 to 7 PM in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester. Flowers may be sent or memorial contributions in memory of Bob may be made to MA Eye and Ear “ENT Department” 243 Charles Street Boston, MA 02114.
