Walter R. Gallien, 82, of Londonderry, NH, died Monday, May 22, 2023 in his home with his family by his side. He was born on October 27, 1940 in Derry, NH, a son of the late James and Sybil (Clark) Gallien. Walter was raised in Derry and then moved to Londonderry where he lived for over 15 years. He then moved to Raymond, NH for 37 years, before moving back to Londonderry three years ago to be near family. He was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy, Class of 1958, and the NH Technical Institute. Walter was a US Air Force veteran serving during the Vietnam era. He was employed as a machinist for Summit Packaging in Manchester for many years. Walter and his wife enjoyed traveling and over the years built several houses together.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Anita (Peracchi) Gallien of Londonderry; his son, Carl Gallien of Londonderry; his sisters, Betty and Joy; his brother in law, Louis Peracchi of Derry; and his nephew, Brian Peracchi of Derry. He was predeceased by his son, Christopher Gallien in 2016, and his granddaughter, Chelsey Gallien in 2008.
Following cremation, he will be buried in the Forest Hill Cemetery in E. Derry at a later date. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium of Derry and Londonderry are assisting the family with arrangements.
