Harold Clark Blethen, 95, formerly of Medway, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2023, after a long illness. His wife of 40 years, Judith Helen (Richards) Blethen, predeceased him in 2021.
Harold was born in Medway, Massachusetts on March 23, 1928 to the late Herbert and Mabel (Clark) Blethen. He grew up in Medway, and lived half of his life there. He was for many years a member of the volunteer Fire Department of Medway. He loved cycling and flying, and was skilled at fixing and maintaining anything mechanical, including bicycles, cars, trucks and airplanes. He and Judy spent a long and happy retirement between Dennis, MA, on Cape Cod, and Vero Beach, Florida. Although he slowed down a bit as he aged, he was still riding his bicycle around Vero Beach at the age of 91.
He is remembered with love by his children: Roger and his wife Pamela Keating of Truro, MA, Susan Ludwig of Arlington, MA, Sandra Carew and her husband Michael of Holliston, MA, David and his wife Janet, and stepdaughters Janet Nelson and Linda Brucato and husband John, of Milford, MA. His youngest daughter, Sheryl Joan Sheppard, predeceased him. He leaves behind 18 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Burial will be private.
