William F. ‘Bill’ Goad, age 91 of Lowell, formerly of Dracut, died Sunday, May 14, 2023 at Lowell General Hospital after a brief period of declining health. He was the beloved husband for 63 years to the late Lorraine (Mills) Goad who passed away in 2017.
Bill was born in Lowell on April 24, 1932 and was a son of the late Raymond and the late Irene (Hallwich) Goad. Bill attended Dracut Schools and was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Navy, serving on the U.S.S. Duxbury. Bill was also a union laborer in Local 429 for over 25 years; and also for the Town of Dracut Public Works Department.
Bill was an avid outdoorsman; enjoying hunting and fishing. Bill was a country music fan and enjoyed trips to Foxwoods. He was a dedicated grandfather, who loved his grandsons. He never missed a baseball game, art exhibit or any other activity his grandsons participated in. He also loved the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox.
Surviving Bill are his daughter, Cynthia A. ‘Cindy’ Nugent of Lowell; his son, William F. Goad Jr. of Lowell; his two grandsons, George Nugent III and his husband, Michael Griffin of Andover, and Michael Nugent and his wife, Vanessa (Fountain) of Salem, NH; and his two great grandchildren, Hayleigh Nugent and Michael Nugent, both of Salem, NH. He also leaves many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was welcomed into heaven by his son, the late Gary R. Goad who passed away in 1995; and his siblings, the late Thomas R. Goad, the late Franklin W. Goad, the late Stella M. Goad and the late Daniel R. Goad.
Bill’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Lowell General Hospital for their excellent care he received over the past few years.

Burial was held in the family lot at Tewksbury Cemetery, and at his request, funeral services were private.
