Cornish- Thelma Imogene Reed, age 89, passed away on May 18, 2023, peacefully at home.
She was born on March 28, 1934 to Everett Wallace and Imogene Lillian Mcleese of Hollis, Maine. She
graduated from Hollis High School in 1951, a year early, due to the fact that she skipped a grade.
She worked at Charlie's on the Square and Crimos in Portland, she also worked at a sardine factory
where there is a funny fact that she was struck by lightning while working and finished her shift. She
enjoyed picking blueberries and strawberries even in the rain. She worked at Chipman's Farm stand.
She ran the Casco Meal Site where she would make Meals for the local elderly. She had a famous
Chili she won a contest with.
She enjoyed playing Bingo, crocheting blankets, for family and friends. She also showed younger
girls how to crochet, she enjoyed her puzzle books, watching Golden Girls, Red Sox, Andy Griffith,
Family Feud, she loved Steve Harvey, Peoples Court, Judge Judy, Mash, Roseanne, Everybody Loves
Raymond, Country Music Television. Thelma enjoyed Bowling, and watching her son Donnie in bowling
tournaments.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren: Dylan- always enjoyed joking with his grandmother,
making her laugh. Adam- enjoyed coming home from school and work, getting treats from his
grandmother and telling her stories of his day.
Thelma was married to Donald Reed for 39 years, before his death on Nov. 30, 2007.
She is predeceased by her husband, Donald Reed, her brother, Harry Wallace, her sisters, Winonah
Bickford, Valdina Allen, and Marlene Harmon, her father, Everett Wallace, her mother, Imogene Mcleese
and stepmother, Kay Wallace.
Thelma is survived by her sons Donald Reed (Donnie) of Cornish, Robert Pulkkinen of Colorado, daughter,
Evangeline Reed (Tangie) of Biddeford. Grandchildren: Trevor Reali of Biddeford, Dylan Reed and
Adam Reed of Cornish, Molley, Alley, Sophia, and Zack of Waterboro. Many nieces and nephews.
Great grandchildren, Alayna and Graceland.
There will be no service per request of Thelma, she has requested to be cremated and spread over
the blueberry fields.
