Donald H. Lewis, 86 of Medway, MA, formerly of Delran, NJ, passed away on May 19th, 2023, after a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth A. Lewis, with whom he would have celebrated 58 years of marriage in July.
Don was born in Lakewood, Ohio on April 3rd, 1937, to the late Virgil and Irene Lewis. He graduated from Adelphi University in New York and then enlisted in the Navy in 1960. Upon discharge, he moved to New Jersey, where he began a career in banking. Don spent the majority of his employment with Central Penn and Meridian Bank, retiring in 1992.
In addition to his wife, Don is survived by his daughter, Michele Porter of Reno, NV and his son, Brian Lewis, and his wife Kathleen, of Franklin, MA, and his sister, Patricia Schroeder of Florida. Don also leaves behind his grandchildren Brendan, Bridget and Eric Lewis of Franklin, MA and Ryan and Clark Porter of Reno, NV.
Don will be fondly remembered for his devotion to his family and goofy sense of humor. He adored his grandchildren and loved nothing more than entertaining them on their visits to New Jersey; playing games, telling stories, and delighting in their accomplishments. Don was also a HAM radio enthusiast and enjoyed the many connections he made with fellow users across the country. Most of all, Don was a loving husband and father who dedicated his life to family and friends.
A private burial will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA. A Celebration of Life will be held this summer in New Jersey for friends and family.
