Darlene M. (Schmock) Best, age 70, of Quincy, died Thursday, May 18, 2023 peacefully in hospice care after a tough battle with bladder cancer. She was surrounded by family and loved so dearly by those close to her. Darlene was born in Quincy, MA and shortly after, raised in Germany for the first part of her childhood while her father traveled for the U.S. Army. Her parents moved back to Quincy, MA where they would soon develop and own the well known business, Regina Russell’s Tea Room. Darlene thrived in this business as she was one who had a natural gift for psychic, card readings. She worked in this business for most of her life until she retired and relaxed doing what she loved best, traveling.
Darlene lived life like there were endless adventures to go on, endless places to see, and endless people to love. Darlene was a devoted mother to Darisa St.Germain of Foxboro and James Anderson of Quincy, mother-in-law to Reginald St.Germain of Foxboro and Jill Anderson of Quincy, and loving grandmother of James Anderson, Carrie St.Germain and Hannah St.Germain. She was also survived by her brothers Daniel Schmock and Gary Schmock of Quincy.
Her family will hold a private celebration of life in honor of her wishes.
