John Sabin Bell, 81, passed away on April 22, 2023, at UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester, MA surrounded by his loving family. He was born in 1941, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Harold P. Bell and Anne Dibble (Brackett) Bell. A loving husband of 58 years to Carol L. (Long) Bell, John was a devoted father to Christine Tamara (Bell) Nadeau and her husband Chris J. Nadeau of Hopkinton, MA and David S. Bell and his wife Kelly M. (Poggio) Bell of Sudbury, MA. John was an adoring grandfather to John F. Nadeau and his wife Grace Nadeau, William C. Nadeau, Julia B. Nadeau, Charlotte G. Nadeau, Logan L. Bell, and Tanner S. Bell.
John was predeceased by his parents and his twin brother, James J. Bell. John is survived by his brother, Philip B. Bell, of Scottsdale, AZ and sister, Mary Anne (Bell) Morefield, of Mechanicsburg, PA
A dedicated longtime promoter of his beloved Dartmouth College, John was a prolific reader and enjoyed serving as the family's amateur genealogist. A talented handyman, John enjoyed traveling, gardening, golfing, hunting, solving puzzles of any kind and playing pool in his free time.
Along with two of his siblings, John graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics from Dartmouth College before going on to earn a Masters of Science from Carnegie Institute of Technology (now Carnegie Mellon University).
John had a successful career as a medical administrator specializing in ophthalmology practices. John ultimately retired from North Suburban Eye Associates in Wakefield, MA. He served as a past National President of the American Society of Medical Administrators as well as on the National Board for Certification of Ophthalmic Administrators. John was a Certified Ophthalmic Executive and Certified Medical Practice Administrator.
In accordance with his wishes, the family will hold a private memorial at a later date. John will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
