WEBSTER Stephen J. Matczak,70, died Wednesday, May 17, 2023 in UMass/Memorial Healthcare at Harrington after a period of declining health.
He leaves his partner of 40 years, Carol A. (Nowosadko) Lewis and her son, Christopher E. Lewis and his fiance, Jessica Arruda; 2 brothers, Ronald Matczak of North Brookfield and Paul Matczak and his wife Jean of Worcester; nephews and nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces.
He was born on November 10, 1952 in Worcester, son of Henry S. and Delores B. (Roslund) Matczak and graduated from Worcester Boys Trade School in 1972. He lived in Webster for 40 years.
Mr. Matczak first worked as a machinist at Warner & Swasey. He was a campus police officer at Nichols College in Dudley, at UMass/Memorial Belmont Campus and at Worcester State Hospital before retiring.
He loved fishing, especially with his godson Christopher. He enjoyed hunting and was an experienced taxidermist. He belonged to the Auburn Sportsman Club.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, May 22, in the Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street, with a prayer service at 7:30 PM.
