Darren Joseph Spencer, passed away unexpectedly on April 11th, 2023, in Somerville, MA. He was only 56 years old. His family is deeply saddened by his sudden death.
Darren is survived by his two beautiful daughters Alexis Flaherty of Berkley MA and Samantha Spencer of Orlando FL. Forever remembered by his siblings Karen Zanetti of Springfield MA and Kevin Spencer of Orlando, FL. He is also loved and remembered by his companion Melvenus Meagher, her family, and the greater Springfield and Somerville communities.
Darren was born in Cypris Greece on September 13, 1967. Although he and his family traveled across the world, living in Greece, Japan, and Hawaii to name a few. They settled in Springfield; MA where he attended West Springfield High school. Darren was predeceased by his parents, Audrey and Michael Spencer.
Darren was a fun spirited soul who took on many passions. He enjoyed rock and roll, living his life according to artists like Bon Jovi, ACDC, Kiss and so many more. He was a devoted cook, who took joy in creating new things and sharing it with the world. One of his favorite places was the ocean. He would take every opportunity to swim and bath in the hot sun of the beach, admiring the shoreline and reminiscing about his “surfing days” in Hawaii.
He made an impact on many lives, and he will be forever missed. The funeral will be held May 27, 2023, at 11:00am at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Springfield MA.
