Ralph Curtis Evans Jr., of Milltown Road, passed away Saturday at the age of 45.
Ralph was born in New London on March 26, 1961 the son of Lillian Evans of Mystic and the late Ralph C. Evans.
Ralph was a 1979 graduate of Stonington High School and later graduated from Thames Valley Tech in 1980-81. He then served in the US Air Force for 4 years, being honorably discharged in 1987.
He also earned a diploma from “The Institute of Teenagers & Children’s Literature” in 1996 and was a published author of children’s stories.
An environmentalist and nature enthusiast, Ralph enjoyed running, kayaking, Nascar, and spending time with his dog, “Buddy”. He was employed at Two Trees.
In addition to his mother, Ralph is survived by three sisters, Linda Waterman and her husband David of Norwich, Pamela Slocum and her husband Walter of Pawcatuck, and Cindy Evans of Westerly.
A Funeral Eucharist will be celebrated at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 15 Pearl Street, Mystic on Tuesday at 11am. Burial with military honors will be private. There are no visiting hours.
