FALL RIVER… Salvador J. Ribeiro, 82, of Fall River passed away May 14, 2023, at his home.
He was the companion of Fatima Carmo of Fall River. They had been together for the past 20 years.
Born in Freamunde, Pacos de Ferreira, Portugal, he was a son of the late Liborio M. Ribeiro and Ludovina F. DaSilva. He moved to Taunton in 1972 where he lived until moving to Fall River in 2010.
Mr. Ribeiro had worked for several years as a police officer while living in Angola before moving to Taunton where he opened his own restaurant, A Nossa Casa, which he operated until his retirement. He was an avid Porto fan and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Along with his companion, survivors include his sons Rui Ribeiro of Rehoboth, Helder Ribeiro of Taunton and Paul Ribeiro of Taunton; his sisters Fatima Ferendes and Zulmira Couraceiro of Freamunde; his brother Luso Ribeiro of Porto; his grandchildren Emily, Nicole, Olivia, Tyler, Alexia, Destinee, Logan, and Payton; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, the late Julio Ribeiro.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Friday, May 19, 2023, at 10 AM from the South Coast Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant Street Fall River, MA 02723 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony Parish, 126 School St, Taunton, MA 02780 at 11 AM. Calling hours will be held from 9 – 10 AM, prior to the funeral. Interment will be in Mayflower Hill Cemetery, Taunton.
