Harvey C. Riedel Jr.

Harvey C. Riedel Jr. 86, of Anderson, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at St. Vincent Anderson Hospital following an unexpected illness.
He was born on February 26, 1937 in Taylor, Michigan, the son of Harvey C. Riedel and Violet Evelyn (Holland) Riedel. He was retired from GM Delco Remy and was an avid photographer.
Harvey was a photographer for the Anderson Newspapers and the UAW. He also was a photographer for the National Press Photographers Association, covering the Indianapolis 500 for them for many years. He was a wedding photographer, a founding member of the Killbuck Photo Guild for 68 years, member of Muncie Camera Club, and taught photography at Ivy Tech.
He was a member of Sertoma Club. He and his wife Nancy volunteered at the Sun-n-Fun and Oshkosh Air Shows. He was active with the Anderson Museum of Art and presented the People's Choice Award in Photography in honor of his mother Evelyn Riedel at the museum for over 20 years. Harvey was a life long member of ABATE and Hog Harley Owners Group.
Harvey is survived by his wife of 66 years, Nancy (Skillman) Riedel; four children, Nancy Wagers, Linda (Craig) Ellis, Michael Riedel, and Gary Riedel; grandchildren, Sondra, Carly, Joshua, Jordan, Jonathan, Michael, Scott, Jody, Zachary; great grandchildren, Jay, Olivia, Ella, and Deacon; sister, Cheryl (Riedel) Thurston Love; brother, Robert Lines; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Delores Hall and Phyllis Riedel.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2023 from 2-7 PM at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023 at 1:30 PM at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service officiated by Pastor Mark Murphy.
Entombment will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery.
