James Maxwell “Max” Green, 80, of Eldorado passed away Monday, May 15, 2023, at his residence. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mr. Green at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 18, 2023, at Salem Memorial Gardens, where he will be laid to rest. The Rev. Don Cross will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at Salem Memorial Gardens, from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of the service.
Born November 22, 1942, in Ty Ty, Mr. Green was the son of the late William Henry Green and Eloyce Byrd Green. He was also preceded in death by twin sons, Stacy H. Green and Tracy H. Green; two brothers, Glenn Green and Marion Green and his wife, Vernie Green; one sister, Barbara McLendon and her husband, Timothy McLendon; one brother-in-law, J.B. Stinchcomb; and three grandchildren. Before retiring, he was a builder and framing carpenter and he was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Green is survived by his wife, Carol Hiers Green of Eldorado; two sons, James Maxwell Green, Jr. and Terry C. Green, both of Tifton; one daughter, Sonya K. Green of Tifton; one brother and sister-in-law, Rodney and Judy Green of Venice, Florida; a sister-in-law, Resa Green of Omega; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Diane and John Reade of Ty Ty and Martine J. and Johnnie Hill and Linda Stinchcomb, all of Tifton; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
