Sona Bedirian, 91, of Franklin died May 12 at the Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Facility in Westborough following a long battle with cancer.
Born in Franklin, March 30, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Parinaz (Ouzounian) Bedirian, Sona was a lifelong Franklin resident.
Sona had worked as a housekeeper for many years at the former Hopedale Gardens Nursing Home.
Sona’s real joy in life came from baking, knitting, watching soap operas, following the Red Sox and large gatherings with her family at the “farm.” She had been a longtime member of the Lady Rebekah’s of Franklin.
She is survived by her sister Lucy Semerjian of Franklin and was the sister of the late Elizabeth Karakeian of Bellingham and Sirpouhi Andonian of Whitinsville.
Sona was a devoted and caring daughter, sister and aunt.
Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 18 in St. John’s Episcopal Church 237 Pleasant Street, franklin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be Union Street Cemetery, Franklin.
There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the Franklin Food Pantry, 43 West Central Street, Franklin, MA 02038.
