Owen P. Murray, 87, of Medway, died Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.
Born in New York City on December 5, 1935, he was the son of the late Michael and Marguerite (Postell) Murray.
Owen was a resident of Medway for many years until moving to Stanford, Connecticut several years ago.
He grew up in Point Lookout, New York and earned degrees from Hofstra University, the University of Louisville and his PhD from Hult University in Boston.
Owen proudly served overseas in the Army during the Vietnam War. He ultimately served for 12 years and attained the rank of Major.
Before his retirement, he worked as a professor / consultant for 30 years at the former Arthur D. Little Consulting, Boston College and Hult University.
Owen was an avid golfer and loved dogs.
He is survived by three sons Bruno Murray of France, Michael Murray of Northbridge and Owen Murray, Jr. and his wife Samantha of Medway.
He is also survived by two grandsons Evan and Ryan Murray and many nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Gabriel Murray and brother of the late Michael Murray, Eileen Craven and Patrick Murray.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour on Thursday, May 18 from 6 - 7 p.m. in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com).
Graveside services will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne on Tuesday, May 23 at 1:45 p.m.
