Lorraine Rose “Raine” Murphy, 86, of Derry, NH passed away Friday May 12, 2023, at High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill, MA. Lorraine was born December 28, 1936, in Boston, MA and was a daughter of the late Rosario and Louise (Tarsi) Amoroso. She was raised and educated in East Boston, MA., where she lived and raised her family, prior to relocating to Derry in 2002.
Lorraine was employed for many years as a retail floor associate at Stuarts department stores in Chelsea, MA. She was also a full-time homemaker and mom to her five children. She loved to do arts & crafts projects. She was an avid crocheter and enjoyed making and donating Afghans to local senior groups and area nursing homes. She was also a spiritual Christian and enjoyed attending church.
Members of the family include her five children and their spouses, Kathleen Murphy Labonte, Kevin P. (Debbie) Murphy, Brian T. (Jan) Murphy, Sean M. (Catherine) Murphy and Dennis Murphy, three grandchildren, six great grandchildren, brother, Paul Amoroso, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Daniel S. Murphy, Jr. is 2021, her brother Robert Amoroso and two sisters, Irene DeMarco and Anna Smith.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 pm on Tuesday May 16, 2023, at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street Derry, NH. She will be buried next to her husband Wednesday May 17, 2023, at 10:00 am at the NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway Boscawen, NH 03303.
