James “Jimmy” Edgar Taylor, Jr., 86, of Tifton passed away Thursday, May 11, 2023, at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2023, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Tommy Nalls officiating. Mr. Taylor will be laid to rest at Inaha Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of the service.
Paul James, Ryan Taylor, Kyle Taylor, Kaleb Taylor, Jason Krutzky, Russ Hedgecock, J.H. White and Jerry Wayne Sumner will serve as pallbearers.
Born April 28, 1937, in Atlanta, Mr. Taylor was the son of the late James Edgar Taylor, Sr. and Fannie Carmichael Taylor. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Betty Taylor Sumner. Before retiring, he was employed by Powerhouse Outdoor Equipment and he served for 16 years on the Tift County Commission. He was also a member of the National Guard and he was a member of Northside Baptist Church.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife, Diann Smith Taylor of Tifton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bryant and Jeannine Taylor of Tifton and Brett and Amy Taylor of Macon; two daughters, Kim Taylor and David Powers of Tifton and Jerri Taylor James of Madison, Florida; seven grandchildren, Ryan and Anna Taylor, Paul James, Cori James and Jason Krutzky, LaciRae Powers, Kyle Taylor, Kaleb Taylor and Trinity Taylor; and two great-grandchildren, Asher Taylor and Callie Taylor.
