Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Fotiades, who passed away on May 10th, 2023 at the age of 81. He was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, the son of Michael and Marion (Halloway) Fotiades.

James was a devoted husband to Maria (Padovano) Fotiades for 46 years, and they shared a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. He was also a beloved father to his children, Pam Brunone and husband, Dave, Maria Lamb and husband, Chris, Michael Fotiades and wife, Jill, and Tom Fotiades and wife, Julie. In addition, James was a doting grandfather to his grandchildren Jimmy, Grace, Mac, Caleigh, Gavin, and Jay. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

James was one of eight siblings and was predeceased by his brothers, George John, Paul, and Peter; and his sister, Frances. His sister Maria is in the Boston area, youngest brother Andy in FL, and stepbrother Peter in Martha’s Vineyard. He was a proud patriarch of his family and cherished his time with them. James was a man of great character, integrity, and kindness. He had a contagious smile and a warm heart that made everyone feel welcome.

James made many lasting friendships throughout his life, and his generosity and selflessness touched the lives of countless people. James was a businessman extraordinaire, having built dozens of custom homes on the south shore. He was always willing to lend a helping hand or a listening ear, and his legacy of kindness and compassion will live on. James was a Marine Veteran who proudly served his country.

His family, friends, and everyone who knew him will deeply miss James. However, we take comfort in knowing that he is now at peace and reunited with loved ones who have passed before him. His graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 17th at 11:00 a.m. in Hope Cemetery, 119 Webster Street, Worcester.
