Kiriakos "Mike" Stergiotis, 68, of New Bedford, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, May 8, 2023. He was the loving husband of Filomena M. (Cunha) Stergiotis. They recently celebrated 36 years of marriage.
Born in Galaxidi, Greece, he was the son of the late Mixalis and Panagioula (Pataka) Stergiotis.
Mike was a generous man who lived life to the fullest. He loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed technology and all his gadgets as well as building things and being a mechanical engineer. Mike started working at Grinnell Pajama as a mechanic and rose to General Manager before moving to Merrow Manufacturing. Mike loved his mother and his extended family in Greece. He always drove a fancy car and loved his red Jaguar. He was a great cook and owned and operated Maria's Coffee shop and Bakery, Lukulos Pizza on Mount Pleasant St, and Bravo Family Dining of Acushnet. He was a proud lifetime member & Legioneer of the Moose Lodge Chapter 914.
Survivors include his loving wife; his son, Michael Stergiotis; his stepchildren, Joyce Gonsalves and her husband Fernando, Jennifer Ferreira, and Jason DaSilva; his grandchildren, Shana Pacheco, Tyler, Kyle, Serena, Nikolas DaSilva, and Alexa Gonsalves; his great-grandchildren, Belinda, Jaidyn, Nolyn, Kamory, and Nhailee; his sisters, Rula and Sophia; his sisters-in-law, Mary Fricke and her husband Ken and Dr. Lisa Machnik; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his brother Thanasis. He was everybody's Papou and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
His visitation will be held Saturday, May 13th from 1-5 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Father Peter Leneweaver will hold a Funeral Service at the start of the visitation. The Moose Lodge 914 will be holding a 20 minute special service at the end of his visitation.
