Obituary

Paul Jay Halstead, 71, the “most interesting man” of Littleton, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at home on May 9, 2023 surrounded in love by his family after surviving many years of severe cardiac disease and recently Stage 4 Cholangiocarcinoma for almost two years with his “freaking” unfailing positive attitude!

Paul was born in San Francisco, CA, and spent his childhood years moving around the country as a military kid. For over 35 years, he ran Halstead Plumbing & Heating, a trusted family business in Littleton. His passions always led him outside for activities like completing the Boston Marathon and enduring overnight winter hiking while climbing Mount Washington. He enjoyed biking, kayaking, and running through the woods and up mountains. He loved the ocean, spending time on his son’s boat, and the loving company of all those at the Safe Harbor Greenwich Bay Marina. When he could no longer run, hike and ride a bike, he still found a way to be active and took to Yoga. His most recent project was restoring a vintage Jaguar and Mercedes with his son. For the last 8 years he remained in Littleton, MA with his daughter, son-in law and their six children. He was a constant source of support, laughs and advice - some of which may have been questionable but as always it was a story you would not soon forget.

Son of the late Floyd Edgar of Highland, NY & Helen (Manwaring) Halstead of Provo, UT. He is survived by his children, Sherriann and her husband David Perivolotis of Littleton, MA and Aaron Halstead and his wife Stephny of Leominster, MA; his brother and sister-in-law Michael and Doris Halstead of Ashburnham, MA; his eight grandchildren Alexa Perivolotis, Katina Perivolotis, Nikolos Perivolotis, Sofia Perivolotis, Thomas Perivolotis, Jakob Perivolotis, Karli Halstead and Lilly Halstead; his niece Kelly Halstead of East Providence, RI and his former wife and friend Diane (Rundlett) and her husband, Robert Raposa.

At his request, a celebration of life party will be planned as a private family and close friend event at a sunny, sandy, and salty location.

Those who want to honor Paul’s life can do so with a contribution to the Massachusetts Fisherman’s Partnership.
