Obituary

WORCESTER___Harry N. Harney, 81, of Worcester passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, May 7, 2023.
Harry leaves his wife of 57 years, Geraldine (Clem) Harney, four children, Catherine Talbot and her husband, William, Michael Harney and his partner, Amy Laro, Debra Paquette and her husband, Kevin and Thomas Harney, eight grandchildren, Heather Burgess, Breanne Fusco, Derrick Harney, Shannon Harney, Stevie Lynn Paquette, Gina Condo, Sarah Harney and Marley Talbot, three great-grandchildren, Tucker Burgess, Joseph Fusco IV and Eli Burgess, four siblings, Ronald Harney (predeceased), Patricia Lessard (predeceased), Carol Audette and her husband, Peter, William Harney and his partner, Tina Paul, and several nieces and nephews. Harry was born in Whitinsville, a son of the late William and Jeanne D’arc (Thibeault) Harney and has lived in Worcester most of his life.

Mr. Harney graduated from UMass Amherst. He was a Chemist at New England Nuclear in Boston, MA for over 45 years. He held several part-time jobs including Child World and working as a Security Guard.

After retiring, Harry volunteered for Rachel’s Table for several years, delivering food to the Friendly House and the Mustard Seed. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He loved to read and was an avid gardener. He spent many a day at Holly Brook Farm, caring for the animals, including his alpacas.
His family would like to thank UMass Lakeside and UMass Memorial for the exceptional care he received as well as Care One in Millbury and Bayada Home Health Care.

Visiting hours for Mr. Harney are Saturday, May 13, 2023, from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. in Dirsa-Morin Funeral Home, 298 Grafton Street. His Celebration of Life Service will follow at 4:00 P.M.
