Nativa M. (Duarte) Hoyle, 80, of New Bedford died May 8, 2023 at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth surrounded by her family.
She was the wife of John E. Hoyle, with whom she shared 61 years of marriage.
Born in Taunton, daughter of the late Manuel and Estelle (Rego) Duarte, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.
She was formerly employed working hand and hand with her husband John at Hoyle Advertising for many years.
She was a 50 year member and past president of the New Bedford Lioness Club and New Bedford Lions Club. She was the recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellow, longtime chairperson of the New Bedford Lions annual banquet for the blind and annual summer cookout for the blind.
Nat was a communicant of St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish and a member of St. Vincent dePaul Society.
The family would like to thank the staff at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth for the excellent care that Nativa received while there.
Nat was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who is survived by her husband; her 3 children; her daughter, Linda Boyages and her husband Scott of Tewksbury, her son, John Hoyle and his wife Tammy of New Bedford and her daughter Patricia Gracia and her husband Paul of Tiverton, RI; a sister, Gladys Varieur of Fairhaven; and 7 grandchildren, Christopher, Gregory, Andrew, Julia, Robert, Sarah and Matthew; and several nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 12th at 11 AM at St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish. Her family will receive guests at church on Friday from 10-11 AM prior to her Mass. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Massachusetts Lions Eye Research Fund c/o Dr. James Roth 49 Stewart Terrace, Belmont, Ma 02478.
